Letters confirming coaches and teams for next season will be sent out in the next couple of weeks, please notify your coach or team manager ASAP if you will not be playing next season.
Queens Birthday tournament was played last weekend with 14 teams across age groups and levels. Our Under 14 Boys and Under 16 girls both made the semi-finals and played great basketball. Our U18 Boys, U16 Boys, U14 Girls and U18 Girls just missed out on semi-finals. We also had many players experiencing a tournament event for the first time – it was a tiring but exciting and enjoyable weekend.
A big thankyou to the parents who supported their children and to the coaches for giving up their time, especially those who are not regular team coaches – your efforts were really appreciated.
The club’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 6th of August, 2008 at the Ballarat Golf Club (Sturt Street). We will be holding the election of our office bearers and committee for 2009 at this meeting and would like to see a representative from each of the teams present. Remember this is your club so come along and have your say in who will be running it !!!
The Phoenix Basketball Club Inc. competes in the Ballarat Basketball Association domestic competition. Phoenix provides opportunities for Senior, Junior, Masters and Social levels for both male and female players.
Phoenix is represented across all grades for the Senior Men’s and Women’s competitions. Our Junior teams are also represented at all age levels and in all grades for Boys and Girls.
We currently have 16 senior teams and 38 junior teams catering for approximately 360 players.
Our aim is to provide opportunities for all players to participate, develop and enjoy their basketball, regardless of age or skill level.
Location
Phoenix Basketball Club is located at the Arch Stadium, Sturt Street, Alfredton, right next to the Ballarat High School. (just down from the “Arch of Victory” landmark, city side)
The stadium provides 3 full sized courts which we use as a training base. We also have access to meeting rooms and also house our uniform and merchandise shop at this location.
